‘Performers’ Playground is the ideal space to try out ideas in a very supportive and active environment as well as an excellent platform where artists meet other artists that want to keep broadening their vocabulary as creators. It is very encouraging to see that new projects are being born from an initial contact at the Warhorse project. It is the ultimate melting pot for creative drive’ Carlos Cegarra—LISPA Graduate & Performer’s Playground Participant |

Octobers Workshops
The Performers’ Playground is a space for actors, directors and writers to come together and learn, test out new ideas on each other, get creative and play. Every session is unique, inspiring and ridiculously affordable.
Monday 3rd November: Grand Guignol – A Macabre Theatre of Horror led by Hayley Radford Hayley Radford Warhorse’s Co Artistic Director runs a special fun and frightening workshop for those that didn’t get to go trick or treating. An introduction to the Grand-Guignol or Theatre of Horror established in London in the 1920’s. We will get the Grand Guignol plays on their feet some of which were banned by the Lord Chamberlain and have never been published or publically performed. Should these works be revived? Or premiered? You decide. Plenty of acting and maybe some fake blood if you’re lucky. Not for the faint hearted.
Monday 10th November: Dynamo Rhythms – The Thinking Body led by Bruna Longo Biog below. Corporeal Mime is a technique that allows the practitioner to learn, through a unique vocabulary, how to express theatrically human behavior from its most practical aspects to its more abstract ones and helps him rid himself of the vices of daily life, deconstructing his daily body and forging a scenic body able to communicate with effectiveness and precision. Developed by Etienne Decroux, its objective is to place drama inside the moving body. The concept of dynamo-rhythm (different qualities of movement) is an example of element developed by Decroux, inside Corporeal Mime, that provides the actor with greater control and knowledge over his own instrument. The aims of this workshop is to explore the dynamo-rhythms established by Etienne Decroux and inspire actors to research other qualities of movement, in order to enrich their own repertoire.
